Frequently asked questions
Is statutory audit mandatory for all companies?
Yes. Every company incorporated under the Companies Act — Private Limited, Public Limited, OPC — must have its financial statements audited by a Chartered Accountant, regardless of turnover.
What is CARO 2020?
Contact us to know the exact pricing for your requirement. Contact us to know the exact pricing for your requirement.
What is the deadline for statutory audit?
The audit must be completed before the AGM. For a March financial year-end company, the AGM must be held by 30 September — making the effective audit deadline early September. Audited financials must be filed with MCA (AOC-4) within 60 days of the AGM.
Can the same CA firm handle bookkeeping and statutory audit?
No. Independence requirements under the Companies Act and ICAI guidelines prohibit a CA from auditing the books they prepared. SS Marks provides bookkeeping as a separate service, and the statutory audit is conducted by an independent appointed auditor.
What are the consequences of a delayed or qualified audit?
Contact us to know the exact pricing for your requirement. A qualified audit report raises flags with MCA and banks and may trigger regulatory scrutiny.
